Established in 2010, The Fannin County Water Authority complies with the Georgia Safe Drinking Water Act of 1977, and is permitted to operate a public community water system by the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.
In Spring of 2014, The Water Authority completed a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) project and is supplying county water to the Hidden Valley and Ridgeview areas just north of HWY 515 and Forge Mill Road.
In Spring of 2015, The Authority also completed a second project known as the My Mountain Subdivision with the use of a Rural Development, United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) loan and grant.
The Water Authority began a new project in Mineral Bluff on November 3, 2016 to provide much needed water to residents on Robert Miller Lane and within Riverwalk on the Toccoa Subdivision. Georgia Environmental Finance Authority (GEFA) funding and the residents of Fannin County make this possible.
A regular monthly meeting is held on the third Wednesday of each month at 2:00 p.m. in the Fannin County Courthouse, in the Commissioner’s Office Conference Room, Suite 100. We welcome all interested parties to attend and explore new water service opportunities.
